ABOUT ME

Zohara Beevi

Assalamu Alaikum (Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh)

I am Zohara Beevi. I am living with my family in Tamil Nadu, India. I'm a passionate cook, food blogger, experimenter, and spice lover.

I love Indian cuisine, especially traditional Indian cuisine. I started cooking when I was 13 years old. My maternal grandmother (whom I call "Nanima") was the first person who taught me how to cook. Moreover, she was also the first person to introduce me to the world of ingredients. I have been fascinated by the ingredients ever since.

ABOUT - FOOD, COOKING, INGREDIENTS

As previously stated, I started cooking at the age of thirteen. However, I did not cook regularly until my undergraduate years. After graduation, I did not pursue further education or a career. I stayed at home.

With curiosity and excitement, I started spending most of my time in the kitchen with my mom. I began to help her by cooking basic recipes, chopping vegetables, cleaning and organising the kitchen cabinets, and most importantly, accompanying her to the grocery store to buy vegetables, fruits, groceries, seafood, and other items. That's when I reintroduced myself to ingredients.

I want to share a fun fact about myself with you:

I'm pretty sure you buy the essential and staple ingredients, or you may plan the recipes ahead of time and buy the ingredients accordingly.

Well, what I'll do is first buy the ingredients, and then I'll plan my recipes. What's funny about this is that most of the time, I have no idea how to use or cook the ingredients I buy.

Even though it's amusing, this positively impacted me in discovering new ingredients and learning new recipes and cuisines.

Well, let me tell you:

Why Did I Begin: Get to Know Your Indian Food With Zohara Blog?

It is said that ideas float around in the air and you have to grab them. The idea of writing a blog on this topic sparked when I started cooking regularly.

We all know that there are numerous ingredients available all over the world. We use only a few regional, local, and seasonal ingredients on a regular basis.

As a beginner in Indian cooking, identifying ingredients such as rice grains, dals, leafy greens, millet, spices, and so on can be difficult. Even the most experienced cook can make mistakes when it comes to identifying ingredients.

Due to a lack of knowledge and familiarity with the ingredients, we are not effectively utilising many healthy ingredients. My key reason for starting this blog is to share information about Indian ingredients and traditional Indian recipes so that we can put them to good use.

I started knowyourindianfoodwithzohara.com in April 2021 to keep an online journal of Indian ingredients and traditional and popular Indian recipes. Therefore, it will be helpful to everyone looking for information on Indian ingredients and traditional Indian recipes.

ABOUT - CONTENT, IMAGES AND RECIPES

I respectfully request that you not copy any of my work, including written text and images, without my permission. Because I worked extremely hard to source the ingredients, compose the shot, edit, research, write the content, and create the recipes.

If you want to use any of my blog images or recipes, please feel free to ask permission and give credit and source links.

I hope that you understand me.

Finally,

With the blessings of the almighty, I started this blog with the pure intention of helping others. I hope my blog, "Know Your Indian Food With Zohara," is your guide to Indian Ingredients and a home for popular and traditional Indian Recipes. You are in the right place to learn about well-known and lesser-known Indian Ingredients and traditional Indian Recipes.
